The angel is a spirit that serves God, and is a bearer of messages (Gen. 22:10-19; pp. 1, 26–38) and an interpreter of events and visions (Zech. 1:7 – 6:15; Acts 1:10-11). The bible also speaks of fallen and hostile angels, whose power Christ has taken away (2 Pet. 2:4). We do not, however, encounter them in Estonian baroque woodcarving art.
